Executive Deputy Commissioner Collado began her career with DOCCS in November 1999 as a Correction Officer, transitioned to Program Services as a Correction Counselor trainee in December 2003, and was promoted to Deputy Superintendent for Programs in September 2014.
In October of 2017 she was promoted to First Deputy Superintendent and then to Superintendent at Shawangunk Correctional Facility in March 2018, which resulted in her being the first female Superintendent at an all-male general confinement maximum-security correctional facility.
In March 2022, she was promoted to Assistant Commissioner for Correctional Facilities before leaving DOCCS in May 2023 to continue her corrections career with the New York City Department of Corrections as an Assistant Commissioner.
