Carol Moores, MD, MPH, MSHA, has been employed with NYS DOCCS since 2016. Dr. Moores completed medical residencies in Family Medicine and Public Health and is retired from the U.S. Army. As an Army physician, she provided direct patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings, managed clinics and hospital medical services, and provided Army aviation support as a flight surgeon. Her public health work in the Army included disease outbreak prevention and response, disaster preparedness planning for Army bases, and occupational medicine clinic management. Dr. Moores was also a faculty member for family medicine residencies and a staff physician for a state veteran’s nursing home. Her deployments included missions to Haiti and Bosnia.
She is certified by the American Correctional Association as a certified Health Service Administrator and by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care as a Certified Correctional Health Professional.
