Sheila Samuels, Esq., served as the keynote speaker for DOCCS' 2024 Caribbean American Heritage Month celebration. The theme was Celebrating Caribbean Contributions to American History, Culture and Life.
Commissioner Martuscello, along with AC Effman and DOCCS staff members, took part in the 2024 Capital PRIDE Parade and Festival in Albany's historic Washington Park.
Commissioner Martuscello planted a tree at the Albany Training Academy in support of Governor Hochul's goal of #25MillionTreesNY. Trees were also planted at each of correctional facility across the state.
At this year’s Women’s History Month Celebration, Sing Sing’s Supt, Marilyn Kopp, served as Keynote Speaker to acknowledge her achievements with the Department.
The Department recognized four honorees at the Women's History Month Celebration for achievements in Career Advancement, Education, Community & Organizational.
The theme of this year's Hudson Valley Women in Corrections and Community Supervision Conference was “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion.”
At the HVWICCS Conference, author of “Belonging: Intentional Inclusivity,” Dr. Richardson-Melecio, spoke about acknowledging the inherent qualities & contributions that women bring to the community.
